How we are driven from exercises in Music and Movement Rhythmic Education (the Dalcroze system, based on the teachings of Lili Arzimanoglou) and exercises from the Chorochroma (DanceColor) teaching method of Maria Karapanagioti – Ioannis Troukis to Choreographic Composition, that is, to the creation of choreography with dancers with and without disabilities.
How, through EP Dance Therapy (France Schott-Billmann) and Contemporary Dance techniques, we train people with and without disabilities in their artistic development as dancers, so that a dance group can be created where each person complements the others and a choreographic work of professional standards can be produced.
The D.D. DANCEDISABILITY method developed by Maria Char. Karapanagioti is based on the arts-based teaching method Chorochroma (DanceColor) (Karapanagioti – Troukis), combined with Dance Therapy (the Primitive Expression EP method (BILLMAN)), contemporary dance techniques, elements of Dalcroze Eurhythmics (ARGIMANOGLOY), and Choreographic Composition, with specialized approaches from the fields of pedagogy, anatomy, and psychology.
The experiential training program aims to provide knowledge and skills at both theoretical and practical levels, which are necessary for the education and support of people with disabilities through dance.
THEORY AND PRACTICE in the pillars of DALCROZE EURHYTHMICS AND CHOROCHROMA, DANCE THERAPY, CONTEMPORARY DANCE, IMPROVISATION, CREATIVE MOVEMENT, and CHOREOGRAPHIC COMPOSITION, using exercises and music that we employ in order to train people with disabilities through the arts.
THE PROGRAM IS TAUGHT by Ms. Maria Karapanagioti, with guest instructors from the dance field and other arts, as well as scientists whose fields are relevant to the seminars.
